ASUS A7N8X-E and Geil PC6400 800Mhz 2Gb(2x1gb) kit

Hi i am having problems getting this to work, whenever i try run the ram in dual channel it gives a memory error beep

I have tested both chips in DIMM 1 and they work fine, i have tested them both using DIMM 1 and 2 (not dual channel) and they work fine.
But as soon as i put them in dual channel (DIMM 1 and 3 or DIMM 2 and 4) i get beeps which i assume are memory errors (seeing as thats what caused them)

I have tried clearing the CMOS but i get the same error.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Edit: I had it working previously with a
Geil PC6400 800Mhz 1Gb kit (2x512Mb)

Have you really stuffed DDR2 ram into slots that were meant to take PC3200 DDR ram???
Who told you that PC6400 ram would fit and work on that old board??

LOL, for a minute there i thought you rammed them in the slots :p

Only thing that springs to mind is voltage. If its the Ultra kit you have it needs 2.1v

thanks for the help it was the voltage after all, the board maxes out at 1.95 i figured the kit ran from 1.9 to 2.1 it would be ok but the board needs to have the value set manually or it undervolts the memory
