I was wondering what you needed to power an SLI system.
My Asus A8N Premium has a molex socket named the 'EZ Plug' adjacent to the PCI-e slot. It isn't needed unless I’m using two graphics cards.
The manual states that it is 'designed to maintain the voltage integrity of the system' and that it 'guarantees adequate supply of power to the motherboard and other installed peripherals.'
If high-end graphics cards take their own power directly from pci-e power connections what is this 'EZ Plug' actually for???
Is it a replacement for pci-e connectors? or just to ensure there is adequate power to the mobo?
Thanks in advance.
