When I turn the power off at the wall to my computer and I put the power back on, my computer takes approx. 25mins before it will come on. At first, I thought the problem was with my graphics card, as I heard there where some issues with 7800GTX's but the more I think about it, the more I think its my motherboard.

Does anyone know if the latest bios (1009) will fix this issue? Or do you know of anything else I can do to fix the problem?

Thank you :)

thanks for the help luminous :)

I have tried the 1009 bios now to no avail. When I get some time over the weekend, I will try taking everything out and try it outside the case and then inside it again. I have tried another power lead at a friends house and the same thing happens at his, so I can rule that one out.
A couple of weeks ago, it only used to take 15 minutes to come on and then all of a sudden, it just wouldn't come on for 25 minutes
Yes, I constantly push the power button and there is nothing until the 25 minute mark.

Thank you :)

I have now tested my graphics card in a friends pc and his computer booted straight away, so it has to be my motherboard.

Does anyone know what could be causing it?

Thank you :)

Thanks for the help luminous :)

My motherboard is about 1 year old now. The temperatures seem normal. My cpu is around the mid 30's and the motherboard is hot at the high 30's but I don't have any fans at the moment, so seems ok. I will try everything you suggested before rma'ing it. The links you provided are very good, so thank you for those as well :)

A quick update: My sister is staying with me at the moment and she is never off my computer, so I haven't been able to unplug everything and put one thing back in at a time. I will be doing this when she leaves in about 1 weeks time though as I really want to get to the bottom of this!

Headrat: I don't have any cards connected. I did have the front usb and sound connected though and I unplugged them, cleared the bios as luminous suggested and it booted in 4 minutes! I was really happy. Today though, I took my computer to a friends house and tried it there and its now taking ages to boot again. The front usb and sound are still unplugged and I cleared the bios again but it took around the 25 minute mark again

Thanks for the help :)

Im sorry I haven't replied for a while and updated my problems but here's my latest news:

My motherboard has now stopped working. So, a warning to anyone else with this problem, send the motherboard back to asus, buy another one but make sure you don't lose any data etc. because im pretty sure that I will lose my data due to the motherboard dieing :(

Check here

Thanks luminous and thanks for all the help during this thread. Do you think asus will accept my motherboard because one of the white clip's on the pci-e slot that holds the graphics card in has come away?

Thanks everyone :)
