Hi guys, i'm pulling my hair out here!

I am getting bluescreens every time I try and install Windows XP onto my
new setup with the Asus A8N32 SLI Premium.

I keep getting NTFS.sys BSODs

I've tried a different hard drives, plugging it into a different SATA port different SATA cable, even a different XP cd and different CD drive and cable!

Does anyone have any info or help on what could be causing this problem? Looking on the Asus forum there seem to be some references to this but no real help really.

Thanks guys,

I hope you can help me!!!

Mal

Tell us your PC spec and that might help a bit .

I had the same prob with my new build last week ..the fix was was to only put one stick of ram in for the install ...worked for me and others

You need to the config your ram in your bios and then put the second stick in .

Let us know how you get on

Hi, sorry I can't offer any help at this time, just wanted to say its the Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe not the Asus A8N32-SLi Premium

Hi, thanks for the help. I removed the 2nd stick of ram and also installed with a slipstreamed SP2 cd, and it worked :D

And yep, sorry, i meant Deluxe, thanks :)

One thing, what do i need to configure in the BIOS before i put the 2nd stick of ram in?

Thanks,

Mal :)

Hi there,

What ram are you using and have you tried the second stick in different slots?

When I installed my board last week I had 3 sticks of RAM in and Windows installed without any problems and no BIOS adjustments were needed.

I've got 2x256MB in the first 2 slots and 1x512MB in the 3rd slot.

Good luck!

Ray.
