Hi there,

On a new build and I simply cannot get anything to post on the screen.
Power to the board is present as the CPU + case fans spin.
I have cleared the Cmos and reset it with no change.
There are no alarms or beeps alerting me to cards not seated correctly.

Only thing I can think of is that the graphics card is dead although it's brand new. XFX PCI-e 7300 GS...anyone have issues with this board and can suggest a few things to try?

I don't have another Graphics card to swap out, but what else can it be?
What to do from here?

Yes I have both power connectors plugged in.
- also tried taking out the Cmos battery and then replacing it

This is getting silly now. Have I missed something obvious?

I ran my X1900 for a while without putting the black card in and it was fine. I wouldn't think that it was an issue.

I assume you havn't got an OS installed yet. Try putting a CD into the disk drive, turning it on and waiting. If it spins the disk and starts reading from it, prolly your GFX card.

The card will only run at 8x though if the switch card is not installed in the black slot, trouble is im not sure if it can be in or out with a Nvidia Sli card, as the board is a Crossfire one.

Have you got your ram in the blue slots also.

When i first built my rig i had same problems, cpu fan etc and HDD would power up but the MOBO would not POST. Basically i opened it up and ensured all connections were secure then restarted, it eventually worked. This was only ever a problem in first couple of weeks of building the system, ocassionally it did die on me but since then its been as good as gold, the latest BIOS 0503 has fixed a certain number of niggles and now the board is as solid as many reviews said the board was meant to be.

EDIT: There is a molex socket on the MOBO, connect a molex power cable to it this let it boot up, then turn off remove the cable then restart it worked for me

Thanks for all your efforts.

I only have one graphics card though and the manual clearly says put it in the blue slot which I have done. Ram is in the correct blue slots. I have not installed any drives. The BIOS must fire up first and that should be the first thing that appears on the screen!! I have connected a hard disk but that also left a blank screen with no signal!!

You may not be surprised to hear that I lost patience!! I have used diff mem chips for good measure as well, no luck. I think that points to a faulty CPU but as I have a friend lending me a old 32meg PCI graphics card on thursday I will rule that out before I RMA anything.

Just love the new builds!
