I have an x1800xt 256mb, it's awesome, I love it, it's a bit loud.

When running off of my integrated graphics, my rig is basically silent, as the CPU fan is controlled by the bios and it's not overclocked, so it's all good.

I am kind of considering moving the x1800xt to another rig and getting the Asus ATI Radeon EAX-X1600 XT that is on offer this week, as it's silent. However, everytime anyone, ever, ever, ever mentions an x1600xt on here, they get mocked big time...

Without AA or AF on, could I run every game, but FEAR at 1280x1024 without troubles?

Might do...at about 10 fps :p.

Seriously, unless it is the 256bit memory X1600XT, then it isn't worth it. The 256bt one is very good, and what the original should have been but the 128bit one is shocking.

Just realised... the heatsink is on the wrong side, so wont fit in my Aria... scrapping this idea. Thanks for the input anyway.

How about the HIS version with ICEQ cooler? Isn't that meant to be pretty quiet?
