A question on the title really. I currently have the sky Sr102 on fibre and getting good speeds and I want to do a bit of a move about of stuff and have long looked at the the Asus routers. Now can I use the Asus DSL-AC68U straight off to plug into wall without using an OR modem? I realise I have to extract the user name as password from sky via packet sniffing but once that is done I don't need the other modem?

I have read the specs and it does says VDSL2 but i thought it prudent to ask before I went down that route.

You could do that, but I'd check the other threads on here regarding the current situation of the DSL-AC68U. Lots of users are having problems with line drops and instability and Asus are issuing test firmware for us to try out.

Until it settles down, I'd stay well clear.

I'm in a similar situation but I have the sr101. I've decided to keep it separate with the OR modem purely because I don't want to risk DLM kicking in. This way I can reboot the router as many times as I want.
