Say I was interested in buying a 2900, there's 4 diff brands to choose from (excluding the ocuk ver) and all differ in price.

Is there any main reason for this or it solely what each competitor choose the sell their model at.

Maybe its just the softwere that comes with each?

All i'm asking is would there be any significant gains in say buying the Asus (£270) over the PowerColor (£240) and are any of these cards know to be more troublesome than the other?

The boards are all the same as far as I know.. You are just paying extra for the software and the support. :)

I went for the Sapphire myself!

With my Sapphire one, I got HL2Ep2, Portal, TF2, DOD:S and 3D Mark 06! :)

Think its the same with most of them though...

I think you get the HL2-Ep2, Portal, TF2, DOD:S with all the 2900's as its a deal between ATi/VALVE, 3D Mark is probably what Sapphire bung in with theirs, but as above, any will do as only the warranties, what extra software you get will be different, so may as well just get the cheapest.

I've got the powercolor one and I got;
-Black box bundle
-Molex to Pci-e
-Install disk
-Some cardboard
-£250 missing from my wallet :p

Don't think there's a right lot of difference between the cards, other tahn maybe STALKER or some other game coming bundled with it :)

no graphics card, i would complain!

No point getting the cheapest if it so happens that it has the worst warranty support around. Saving £20-£30 is little consolation when you're having to use an old graphics card for weeks or months while you wait for a replacement.

I'd say warranty support with high-end cards was more important (to a degree) than cost.
