My hard drives are set up as follows, I have 2 Samsung 120gb SATA HDDs in Raid 0 and they are connected to the Promise controller, these drives hold all my games and other files. On the VIA controller I have a 120gb Sata Maxtor, which is my windows boot drive.
Now on my old BIOS, which was version 1001 the BIOS would first look at the VIA controller and then the Promise controller and boot into Windows fine. Now I've updated to version 1007, its the other way round and I can't get into Windows unless I disable the Promise controller.
If I switch the Promise controller from RAID to IDE mode I can choose, which drive to boot from including the Maxtor and Windows will load fine, except the Samsungs aren't in a RAID setup that way and won't work.
I can't work out how to get round this problem, anyone have any ideas if what I said makes sense lol.
