Ive had this since release (x38 version) with no probs but last couple of weeks its really starting to get on my ****. It will randomly get stuck on the post with "det dram" being displayed on the lcd poster. The only way around this (and this is really weird) is to take out 3 sticks of ram and leave the third ram slot from the left with a stick in it. Boot up, shut down reinstall the ram modules and that normally fixes it.
Ive checked online and this seems to be a common issue with multiple random fixes that seem to differ from one person to the next. Some say to up the volts to the northbridge (tried this to no effect), others say to leave the aux fan connector unplugged as theres a power issue with the board (no effect). Another fix was to get a newer bios (again no effect). The last fix was to replace the ram from 4 1 gig sticks to 2 2 gig sticks, seems pretty pointless to me as the board was working fine for months with no issues with 4x1 sticks.
Its really anoying as the system will boot for days with no problems then all of a sudden this issue crops up out of nowhere.
