The Asus pro board seems quite popular but it also seems to have quite a few problems, maybe down to the number sold.

Alternatively there are the gigabyte ud3 and ud4 boards but am not sure which one out of these is best.

Hardware I currently have is:

2 samsung 2tb f3 hard disk
1 samsung 1tb f3 disk
2 dvd sata rewriters
Asus xonar d2x pci-e sound card
5770 gcard with aftermarket coler.

I am planning on getting a ssd at some point.

So which board would you guys reccomend?

Matt

I've got the Asus P8P67Pro B3 and I'm having nothing but trouble with it and intend to to replace it with a GigabyteP67A-UD3. My advice would be to steer well clear of Asus boards as I will in the future.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I currently have a gigabyte ep45 extreme board which has performed really well so i may get another gigabyte board. Which of the gigabyte boards would people reccomend sub £200.

None now i sent it back use to think they where the bees knees but not now not just the way the board was but the way asus are treating people with replacements.
Cant ever remember when the x58 came out seeing this many problems with the asus boards.

The ASUS boards are pretty bad lots of people are having problems with them (Including me)
Been waiting 3 weeks for a replacement board and no response when it will come. Only had it 5 weeks before it broke.

I bought the Gigabyte UD4 but can't give any feedback on it yet as I bought it in January but didn't want to build my new setup knowing I'd have to take it apart again. I've sent it away for RMA.

Loved the all black finish the UD4 had, and at the time of buying there were loads of threads where people were (and still are) having trouble with ASUS boards.

I had planned on buying ASUS, but all the problems people are having has put me off.

I know ASUS are releasing prompt BIOS updates to help with these issues, but i cannot take the risk.

For me it will be the MSI GD65, Giga UD4 or see what offering Evga bring out.

Well i have had a asus pro since last thursday,i have never built a pc before and i have it up and running overclocked and its not given me no problems at all, from re-installing windows from my previous pc its had no problem with my ssd or f3 hardrives i think people are a bit harsh on this motherboard.

This, although the recent system I built only has a P8P67 B3.

Problems seem to be arising from the old boards and getting replacements rather than the new B3/rev3 version.

I'm using an asus p8p67 pro and RMAing it (didn't get it from OC), I've had a lot of problems with it. The BIOS is terrible and buggy and it's drivers are just as bad, even after updates it will randomly fail to post sometimes or just hang for ages. It's the worst board I've had for a long time. Go for the gigabyte or MSI ones.

The last one I had which was a gigabyte P45 was the best, so I'm swapping it for another gigabyte :)

Wow, so many bad comments on the Asus boards. I've only read good comments in my research, as well as excellent reviews. Now I'm wondering if ordering a P8P67 Deluxe B3 was the right thing to do?

TBH the main reason why I went to the Asus over the Gigabyte was for the intel dual-nic onboard and the Asus boards seem to be priced a bit more competitively.

I'd say mainly due to asus's horrendous non existent support and rma.
Gigabyte have a Uk based fast good rma service.

Pretty much the same although i haven't attempted to OC yet
