Can anyone tell me what the P5B is OC'ing like, I have an E6300 and 1Gig of Geil DDR2 800 Memory and am looking for FSB of about 500. A friend of mine was telling me that these are the boards to get for those sort of speeds, tried googling but surprisingly came up empty handed.

Any one have any info theycan share with me??

Mine clocks ok I think, but like a lot of these early Conroe boards, it's a bit hit and miss - a bit like overclocking overall really!

I can get 3.1Ghz stablish (enough to benchmark/use windows etc) out of my 6300, which equates to a 443 FSB, but I think I'm held back by my RAM and/or the CPU at that point. With some decent RAM, the board should be capable of 500 FSB. It just depends on your CPU then I guess.

Other folks on here have had a pretty bad time with the P5B though, and recommend the P5 WDH instead, but it's a fair bit more cash.

Wound back to 2.8Ghz, my P5B/E6300/667 RAM combo is very stable, and I'm pretty pleased with it for the cash.

Another option people have which isn't quite as expensive as the P5W DH is the P5B Deluxe which is apparently a fantastic overclocker.

Itl take a fair amount of fiddling to get 500fsb. Lap the NB and SB coolers and apply better paste. Also keep them well cooled and whack the voltages up. Im doing that this weekend and am off to lap my tuniq tower now :D

btw use the 0507 bios for your P5B-D. Best one out there.
