Asus p5e and q6600

Hi following on from a post in the general area, if i were to order this motherboard and cpu from here would it boot up or is the bios on the board that are shipping incapable of supporting the quad out of the box?

I don't have a old p4 laying about to get it working otherwise (not that I should have to do this!) :eek:

Checking the Asus website BIOS revision 0301 appears to be the oldest which according to there website supports the Q6600.

Does anyone who has bought the p5e from here lately know what bios its shipping with?

I got a P5E and a q6600 had the quad at 3.4ghz aswell

Have no idea what bios it shipped with but i bought it pretty early so all of them support the quad

The P5E will work with a Q6600 G0 even with the 107 bios. Asus recommends the 201 bios and later for proper support though. Mine worked with my quad straight out of the box. Latest bios is 601 and is very good. Got my old Quad up to 3.8Ghz on the 401 bios.
