Just got back from my mates house and he has just tried to build his first pc but things went terribly wrong

he forced down his graphics card and broke the PCI-E locking clip
now his monitor wont turn on when a card is installed in that slot

everything works fine in the 2nd slot
how come it wont work all he broke is the clip there is no damage to to actual PCI-E slot that i can see

also is this the kind of thing he can RMA it is brand new maybe he can say he got it like that or maybe he can super glue it then send it back ;)

dont worry he didnt buy it from here :p

yup, he's bust a joint most likely, expecially if the pins are surface soldered on the back, vertical force would push the pin through the solder, causing an intermittent contact.

Tell 'im that's why they have two slots, redundancy :nod:
