Atm I am running 2 x GTX470's on the P6X58D-E in the top 2 PCIe slots. This is causing the usual air starvation for the top card.

I am looking at (and have tried) to use slots 1 + 3 - to give the extra gap for the top card to breath...But..

Because of the double thickness of the 470, it wouldn't click down into the bottom PCIe slot because the connectors for the front case cables (Pwr Switch, HDD Light etc) stand too high and catch the casing of the card.

Anyone with a bright idea on how to solve this?

Im sure you all you guys into modding cases/cables etc must have a solution :)

how thick are these cards? 'm hoping to get two dual slot cards onto this very board and i'm failing to see it being possible.

They fit fine onto the mobo, see here

Its just like this , in slots 1 & 2 , the top card runs up to 10*c hotter - which is limiting my OClock somewhat.

So I just need an ingenious solution to mod the case front panel wires that connect to the mobo so I can fit the card into the bottom slot :)

ah, my card is a bit thicker, it overlaps the second pcie x16 slot..

but might i suggest one of those 3x fans that go on the gfx, put it on the side so it overlaps the both cards, sucking. it'd only shift as much air as fits between the two cards but it's something

Create your own right angle connector?

Warning: Fairy washing up bottle and duct tape approach required :D

I think this might be what i need to try:)

*gets out the double sided sticky tape*

Watercooling would be the best option ofc, but i dont have the budget for it atm unfortunately.

Apparently if you have a 9 expansion slot case like the HAF X you can put one of the 470's in the last PCIe x 16 slot at the bottom of the board...

Aye, I'm looking to get this case.....when I figure out the initial problem :p

Since its the motherboard stopping me putting the card in the bottom slot atm
