Hey,
I've just been reducing a bit of noise on the pc (vibrations), and i noticed when i booted up that i've got the RED LED by the RAM on. (I haven't gone near the ram or any other component, just tightened up my rad to the top of the case)
Now i've booted up fine, all memory clocks are correct and so i'm a bit confused as to why the light is on!
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm running an i7 @ 4.2ghz (1.26v), with Patriot Viper (1600mhz) @ 1.65V!

:confused::confused::confused:

Thanks,
Matt

I get that on mine on the odd occasion as well. All i do is turn off, re-boot which will then say my overclock has failed, no probs i enter the bios, hit F10, as i know my settings are rock solid stable, and hey presto boots up no problems at all.

You could just open up the case and hit the Mem-OK button, but thats a lot of hassle, so i do as above, takes few seconds.

Ok brilliant cheers, glad to see it's not just me :)
Yeah indeed my settings are rock solid stable also (had to inc 0.02v voltage to cpu to stop some crashes but all ok now!)

If it's nothing major i'll just leave it until reboot, as it hasn't touched my stability so far anyway!

Funny enough same thing keeps happening to me on my Asus P8P67 PRO. I think It's something to do with the ram being at 1600mhz. I get the same red light and overclock failed. I've tried going down to 1333mhz to see if it will sort it.

Must be a common problem in the Asus bios's
