Ok I'll keep this brief.

Problem:- LAN regulary disconnects and reconnets 30 seconds later.

Symptons:- Loose connection to Lan / Internet for around 30 seconds.

Background:- Had this problem with both P8P67 B2 and P8P67 pro boards. I have several other computers connected to the switch (not hub) and they are working fine. Have replaced the lead to no avail. Have even used the same lead in several other computers which works fine.

Config:-

Study

Netgear 8 port SWITCH 10/100/1000
Server
VOIP
PC

Switch connected to lounge hard wired via outdoor sheilded cat6 lead.

Lounge

Netgear 8 port SWITCH 10/100/1000
Router
XBOX 360
Wii

Thoughts - possible compatibility issue between Negear and P8P67 boards?

Hmmm funny you say this, I had a problem where Mumble (VOIP program) just cut out, other internet was fine. but it was just me that cut out (remote host closed connection)

But my mate with same board P8P67 PRO B3 also cut out from the same server at the exact same time, no1 else on there had a problem, just us two.

I'm running B2.

I'm using Cat 6 lead, connected to Netgear router via gigabit, will look at my settings later and ask my m8 what router hes got.

Also, we are both on 1305 bios

I see. My VOIP is a dedicated VOIP box by VONAGE for my work.

ok - more to the point what the Make and model of your PCIe lan port?

Mine is Intel 82579V. Have tried driver from disk, driver from website, older drivers all to no avail.

Ok diving a bit more into this. I have kept logs of when its been happening, and have now started looking at event logs. I wont post it all as there are thousands however it states the following;-
<><>
Warning message - date time - source = e1cexpress
Event ID = 27

Intel 82579V Gigabit Network Connection
- Network link is disconnected
<><>

Update -

Have tried the following;-

Remove Kaspersky 2011
Ensure ALL power management even OS is disabled
Use IPV4 instead of IPv6 in prefix policies
Disable nativue IPv6
Disable tunnel IPv6
Disable IPv6

netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled

Disabled SNP;-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
EnableTCPChimney=dword:00000000
EnableTCPA=dword:00000000
EnableRSS=dword:00000000

All to no avail. Running out of ideas.

Also getting this issue, have you guys any new news?

Only happened after chipset driver installed. LAN alone worked fine

Ok, dropping LAN to 100Mb seems to be ok. Stops disconnecting at a whim. At 1gbs diagnostics bleet about an iffy cable.

In my case that may be correct but my old realtek based LAN never had an issue.

100Mbps is not acceptable for me = so i'll build a new cable and try that. I'm using a CAT 5 cable with CAT 5 ends, whcih has a few moth eaten areas in it.

Update: It was my cable. The negotiation in the drivers seems to be an issue do it doesn't back down from 1Gb once negotiated. I swapped out the cable and it no longer suffers from the problem.

Looks like my old Attansic L1 / Realtek was more tolerant.
