Asus P8P67 Pro: no issues

My P8P67 broke after 10 days. I updated the bios and managed a few successful boots after the update. One evening it refused to boot with just the fans spinning. I rma that and got an MSI GD65.

Alright chaps, My build is working perfect, too, 2600k on Asus P8P67 Deluxe, with 8 gig vengence ram, Overclocked it to 4.5ghz at the moment, the only issue i have my Creative X-Fi extreme music works, but it does not sound as good as my old rig? the volume seems very low

Glad its working ok :)
What cpu cooler you using? And do you have problems with cpu cooler and memory slots?I cant decide which cooler should i get...
Thinking about Akasa Venom, but then i probably must get low profile memory, since Venom cover 1st memory slot..aarrgghhh

Akasa venom is a champion choice of cooler. Ticks all the right boxes, unless you dont like yellow :p

Nope, have no problems with yellow, actualy i think it will look very nice in CM X case.
My main concern now mobo and memory, coz im not sure if Vengeance ram will fit..Thinking about XMS3 ram

Anyone getting distant modemmy sounds when not doing anything particularly strenuous? I like to keep my headphones on to block out background noise, but the random screeches are starting to chip away at my sanity.

I admit, this is with a Xonar DX in the x4 PCI-E slot rather than the onboard, and as such the contact is not ideal, but I thought it'd be worth checking with others.

4.7 at 1.32v 100 BLCK nice and stable (if you ignore the resume from sleep issue)
Temps 61c max under load..:)

Apart from the sleep issue (which isnt' down to Asus) and the possible chipset issue - alls been good

I asked about this in another thread but got no reply, can any of you guys help me with this question?
Does the EPU engine work in connection with the Asus automatic oc software on the P8P67 PRO?
The reason I'm asking is that the Epu engine on my P45Q board could switch off all the case fans in energy saving mode(utter browsing heaven!) but it would only allow a tiny oc. It doesn't work with a manual oc so the fans are always spinning. If they both work together on the new p67 then it's good to know in my choice of kit if I decide to take the plunge.

Already done the battery remove thing and I've got the new BIOS ready to go on at first POST.

what is this battery remove thing people speak off?, i ask because my i5 kit arrives Monday morning, & ide like to familiarise myself with any potential issues i can avoid if poss.

Ignore them, you DO NOT need to remove the battery to reset CMOS (bios settings) after updating the bios. Don't believe me? Set a bios password, then follow the instructions in the manual (remove power cord from pc, move CLR_RTC jumper one pin to right for 30 seconds, return jumper, power up) and see if it still asks for a password. If not: CMOS clear success!

(On deluxe boards you have to press a button instead of moving the jumper iirc)

Another one without (yet :D ) problems with P8P67 Pro
UEFI ver.1204,4.2ghz on stock vcore
Only problems i had in uefi its M$ usb mouse and keyboard problems (3.1 receiver) - drifting, but that should be fixed with 1302 update soon
Overall,i expected much more problems, but didnt have any real yet

I thought the issues presented themselves over time? (SATA problem)

Well, not everybody connecting they drives to those affected ports
My setup - SSD=Intel 6Gb,HDD=Intel 6Gb,BDR RW=Marvell 6Gb,no problems at all,and probably will not have problems after some time even.
And i am talking about overall this mobo experiene - crashes,BSOD,etc.
Only have good words about this mobo,no BSOD,no crashes.Of course,UEFI needs to be patched, but overall very good mobo.
ver.1302 UEFI soon,so that one will fix some problems again.
