appart from the tp link not having dual wireless or a 2nd usb what are the main differences?

Quick question...

There's a lot of chatter about using third-party firmware on the Asus routers to fix various problems. Is it just a noisy minority, or is third-party software necessary?

I've found manufacturers firmware to be fine. I'd consider myself a moderate user of the features, but by no means a power user so i can't really comment on that side.

i am the same do not use it fully ,but the only way i can connect my mobile dongle to it is use third-party firmware for back up

i was already more than likely going to buy the asus just wanted to see why.

Also gotta buy a switch as I have too much to plug into it.

Need to get some longer ethernet as well mine are a bit short and pulling things.

Will probably buy some cat 6 as its cheap enough.

ordered the asus so shud arrive tommorow and im off work thurs fri and in and out most of wed so got some time to play.

ordered some cat 6 cable for the connections as well.
