Hi Guys,

Just upgraded to sandybridge and one of these mobos.

I have two GTX 470s and i am seeing something quite odd and think i may have a faulty board...

There are two PCI-e slots a, a light brown one (PCIE-e 1) and a black (PCI-e 2)

when one plug both cards in in sli mood i am not seeing anthing post. When I plug only one card in the PCI-e 1 i again dont see anything posting but when i plug the exact same card into the PCI-e 2 slot everything posts fine...

Anyone know why this might be? i really hope its not a faulty board.... its brand new.... =(

Not sure. Just looked in my bios and i have U3 mode enabled by default( only using 1 card in top slot). But if everything is working alright, i should`nt worry. Just check your bios.

mine was set to U3, so ive tried changing it to X1 but am still unable to boot off the top slot (nearest to the CPU)

is there anything else i might have missed? anything i might be doing wrong?

I find it very strange that it will work fine on the botton slot but not on the top... =/ normally the top slot is the primary one =( also with this, it means sli causes the system not to post.

Please any help would be great... i would hate to rma and it turn i out i just had messed up bios settings =(

also i have cleared cmos, a few times... but it hasn't helped at all..

Thanks guys!

Just noticed there is a vga light. it stays on when im using a card in the top slot while when i am using a card in the bottom slot the light only comes on for about 3 / 5 seconds and then turns off....

OK got the two cards working now... not really changed anything just kept taking them out and pluging them back in. but now its randomly rebooting...

loaded up wow and when i was in the game the system just restarted itself.....

Also last night i left it on but wasn't doing anything and noticed it restarted as well...

Could this be a dodgy board? I'm worried about RMA'ing it and because the issues are random... getting it sent back at my cost =(

ok ran a few more tests and with sli enabled or not enabled it crashes when launching BFBC2 and once loaded in WOW

Could this be my CPU?

Please guys any help would be great... thanks.
