posted this in the official thread but no replies so thought I'd put it out to everyone.

Got an SLI premium mob with 2 7800GTXs and can get them to SLI. Have done all the basics like connect the power to both cards and mobo, sli bridge (tried both ways) but I get the following.

The card will post off card 1 then switch over to card 2 for windows - but wont sli. Windows only recognises in device manager 1 card. Tried both cards in both slots etc.

Anyone managed to sli this board, if so - how do i do it??

think it might be a windows driver problem, cant even get it to go into windows with only a single card fitted - it posts ok and I can hear windows start - but no output to the monitor!
:(

looked at the nvidia site, it has different drivers for the geoforce "go" 7800, but none for windows x64 :(

am using 81.98 drivers but now cant even get a screen in windows - looks like a full re-install!!!!!

It's ok your board isn't meant to have one according to Tom's. If you are only using one card it must be installed in PCIx slot 1.
Can you get into your BIOS?

EDIT: by 'one' I mean the SLI switch.

no problems getting into bios, get an output to the monitors until windows kicks in, then nothing.

There should be an SLI configuration thing in your BIOS with three settings, Auto Single card and Dual card. Duel card mode will enable them both but they won't be running SLI. You use some AI selector once Windows has started to enable SLI.
Also have you ensured that when you are only using one card it is in slot one?

You need to take your monitor output from the top card for SLI to work. When in windows, go into the control panel:-

cheers all but it was dwn to the chipset drivers!! it seems you have to use the following from nvidia:

platform / nforce drivers - nforce4 AMD/intel X16 - windowsxp Pro x64 edition.

What a pain - full reinstall reqd too. Hope that saves someone else the pain I've just gone through!

It doesnt work properly in X64 one of my cards was only heating up staying in the 50c mark, where the other would go around high 60s.

Make sure when youre testing it also enable load balancing, if you see the line move then its working. The double check the tempreture of the cards if they are even sli is working at its best.

Seroiusly if you have x64 - remove it I had all works of weird problems, It worked to start them after restarting windows it would sudenly start working. I think its a Chipset / driver issue.
