Hi Guys,

I recieved my monitor this morning and eagerly got it out the box. The first thing to note for me was coming from a 24" monitor, this looks surprisingly much bigger (obvious I know). I thought the extra 3" would be minimal but screen size now looks massive.

I plugged in the supplied Dual link DVI cable and started up the comp. I right clicked desktop opened up nvidia control panel and clicked the "setup steroscopic 3D"

I followed the on screen instructions and soon I was viewing some pics in 3D and this was my "wow" factor. Some of the images in the demo pics are amazing. Real depth and clarity (not what I was expecting). I sat through these for 3 cycles before getting bored and wanting to see game performance.

First game I tried was Dirt 3. Again with the wow factor as I laughed at how good the game looked in 3D. Again I was expecting the odd thing to stick out but the whole game came to a new level. Realy needs to be seen to be explained.

I had to add this game to the list and geeeeeeeeeeeez this is incredible Tine 2. If you buy this monitor buy this game....I was gob smacked

Next up was BF3. A little dissapointed tbh as this was no where near in the scale of Dirt 3. The HUD was 3D and the sights but realy that was about it.

Next game was Skyrim. Back to the wow factor and honestly I just wanted to play and play. This game was like it was meant to be played in 3D. The detail and depth of every little thing is incredible. A job well done.

Movie time. I have 2 films to watch and first up was Avatar. The initial fly through the jungle made me think I had done something wrong as this looked normal but when it went to Sam Worthington waking and coming out of cryo sleep I could clearly see how good this film was in the theatres and the asus has done this film complete justice. The 10 mins I watched had me blown away. The 3D looked amazing (I watched Avatar at the cinema in 3D)

Next up I put on Tron Legacy. Started off flat, but when it panned into the house again this looked stunning. I wanted to watch the whole film but more testing to be done.

I got out Microsoft Flight Sim X and off we went. I loaded up a heli and it looked good. Nothing special here just good.

The 2D performance isn't that great being fair and my old Iiyama 24" had a better pic. The colours seem slighly faded but I am sure I can fiddle with settings to adjust this. I did try but found I was getting wound up because the buttons dont do what I wanted them to. No real easy way of changing things and I am not a fan of instructions. This is just me being lazy though and wanting straight forward easy buttons.

The 3D is what puts this screen in the desirables. It just shows off and does not dissapoint. I would recommend this monitor if you are a gamer/movie buff and want to game/watch in 3D but if you prefer to use this monitor as a work/web/part time gamer then I would say this monitor is not for you.

I saw no light bleed as mentioned on other forums and also the lighboost realy does work. The glasses are comfy (ish) could be better but this is not a fault.

All in all I am a very happy customer and would recommend this monitor. Just don't expect too much from the 2D visuals.

For me. Theater and scenery mode work best for me. I find all other modes washed out with tomuch gamma. But good for night time maps i guess

Contrast around 65 / brightness 20 or lower and colour temp set to warm
