ASUS X58 SABERTOOTH TUF MOTHERBOARD AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER

Bear in mind he just bought ANOTHER rig, to go with his i5 setup he referred to earlier.

Anyway.. WAYYYY off topic. I think it's relatively cheap if it's as robust as they are making out. Wasn't long ago motherboards were easily £250 for this caliber of board (or am I wrong?)

this is wot should be said in this thread because these are some of the "real" Facts that ppl want to know. ;)

everything else is carp! and distorts the thread for learners who come in to hear sensible things about a product that they might buy.

it looks like a really nice mobo, asus are normally quite expesnive (cough ROG)

this one seems right....

side note would it suite with a black/red colour scheme ?:P

also reading the specs it seems quite well equipped

"The key emphasis for TUF Series motherboards lies in enabling prolonged use. The SABERTOOTH X58 can keep going round the clock with no pause thanks to its meticulous thermal design, which means heat and stress are not obstacles."

That sounds like complete rubbish...... so now a motherboard is special if it can remain on for ages?

My ASUS P5W DH Deluxe is running my E6600 at 3.55GHz and i could leave that on for a month with no problems (granted, i do have 2x 22cm fans in mine).

So much for it not coming out in the UK :D will their be limited stock?
I don't suppose you know if you can run both PCI-E lanes at full 16x whilst using the Sata/6Gb?? i know some boards can't. I like the look of it, but it would be hard to find RAM which will look good in it :(

Wonder how long before the not for the UK Rampage III Formula turns up?

Yeah not a bad mobo. I was just looking through some of my invoices and i have an asus crosshair IV formula (ROG) motherboard at £156.39 / august 2010.

vs a X58a-UD5???

Tough call. Persoanlly I would choose the Sabertooth but I only really like Gigabyte high end X58 boards, whereas I prefer mid range Asus boards.

However the Sabertooth will not suffer from cold boot unlike the UD5 which is renowned for it. I think the Sabertooth has one of the best slot layouts aswell other than the SR-2 or UD9 :p
