ASUS X58 SABERTOOTH TUF MOTHERBOARD AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER

Has anybody got one of these and are willing to share their thoughts about it. I see it on the "this week only" and think its a good buy.

The review above seems to be good so was thinking of picking one up.

Thanks

I bought it for long(ish) term stability rather than overclocking potential. Just as I was buying the pipe and slippers :p

I will however probably run a couple of benchies to see what it's like, anything you'd like to see?

I've read a few reviews which say the board is good, I'm contemplating a rebuild that is almost exactly the same as yours and if I do actaully make a decision, it will be for simialr reason as yourself, a long(ish) term build that will allow me some overclocking headroom when needed, pretty much as my current build has.

Well, install was a breeze. Only problem I've got is finding a win7 driver for my screen calibrator but I suspected that might be the case.

Everything is well laid out, plenty of room around the cpu, fan headers well placed, the asus connector block makes life just a touch easier. Plenty USB, plenty SATA (running 1XSSD and 4XIDE) again well placed although I do prefer the SATA ports to be facing up from the board rather than towards the drive bays.

Just finshed a large photo batching session and temps are sitting at 36-CPU, 34-MB, 46-NB according to Asus probe. No idea how accurate that is and can't be bothered checking to be honest :).

Driver install an absolute doddle, just fire up the disk and pick autoinstall, one reboot later and ready to go.

Haven't tried any tweaks to it but it's the normal Asus bios by the looks of it so it feels familiar. If I get a chance this weekend I'll run some benchmarks just to see how it compares to the "official" reviews :)

ordered a system with this board, should have it tomorrow. It was one of the cheapest X58 1366 boards, dont plan on overclocking so should last me for my needs.

Having another look at the differences between the Sabertooth and P6X58D-E and noticed that the Sabertooth only has 8 phase power regulation whereas the P6X58D-E has 16, so if I was making the choice now between these two boards I would certainly favour the P6X58D-E...(which I bought anyway, before Sabertooth was released).

Bought one of these and put it in on Saturday. Coming from a UD5 and UD3 both with issues and cold boot issues, this is a joy, very fast booting and so far I am incredibly impressed. A very worthwhile buy for me. I may put the watercooling back on it soon once I've had a play with it. Not overclocking yet.......

I've had to RMA mine, sound just died :(

None in stock so went for a P6X58D-E to tide me over but the sabretooth has a far nicer layout. Looks better too IMO.
