Hi folks, just finished my first pc build, and everything has gone like clockwork... except the sound.

I have a gigabyte p67a-ud4-b3 motherboard and the asus xonar d2 card (in pci slot 1). The card is lit up inside, as are the ports at the back.

The disc it came with did not have drivers for windows 7, so i downloaded them from the website and installed them. Whilst installing, it said the card was not connected. Turned off pc, re-inserted card, turned on pc. Card is now showing on the sound properties on control panel, and the asus xonar software is installed. However, I still can't get any sound at all.

I have some headphones plugged in the bag (in the right slot) but cant work this one out. Oddly, when I put a cd in and click play on media player all of the tracks on the racklist flash, and nothing happens.

Any ideas / suggestions gratefully received!

with windows 7 you don't have to download any drivers at all, windows 7 completely installs drivers automatically, so it may of just been searching for the required driver to install in the beginning
