Athlon 64 X2 to AMD Llano A4-3400

I have a Core i3 2100 myself - the HT is useful in situations where more threads are useful. The Core i3 2100 seems fine with my overclocked HD5850 1GB and it seems fully utilised.

Crysis2 and Metro2033 are fine. Fallout:New Vegas seems fine and Deus Ex:Human Revolution seems to like more threads. Games such as Sins of a Solar Empire and Supcom run fine too.

My friends i3 2120 is slightly bottlenecking the GTX560Ti overclocked to 950MHz on BF3 multiplayer if no MSAA was used...so I guess i3 2100 would be pretty well-balanced on scale with a 5850 :p

My HD5850 1GB is overclocked upto around 925MHZ to 950MHZ for the core from the stock 725MHZ. It should be hitting at least HD5870 1GB level.

Even with a 1GHZ core(not stable for very long),it seems to be producing more FPS in the games I have tested it with,ie,Crysis2 and Metro2033. Crysis2 does use all 4 threads and with my older Q6600 running at around 3GHZ,it would use all four cores at around 99% or slightly less.

However,I just get the feeling BF3 is poorly optimised and just loves hardware thrown at it. OTH,luckily I don't play it so my hardware should suffice for a bit longer!! :D

**ALARUMS!**

Annoyingly it seems that the motherboard is out of stock and there's no ETA for further stock :(

Looking at the other boards which are within the same budget, none have SATA 6GB, so won't benefit as much when I can slot an SSD in...

I'm not in an urgent rush for this upgrade (i.e. I'm happy to wait for a week or two) but I don't want to be hanging on forever... Does anyone have experience of how long re-stocking could take, or suggest another board which will work with other parts, have SATA 6GB and is at the same price point?

*sigh*

It seems the B75 motherboards are starting to replace some of the H61 ones.

From what I gather they all come with SATA3.0 and USB3.0,and they seem to be a cost reduced version of the H77,ie, for example there is only one SATA 3.0 port.

Yay \o/

Definitely think I'll be looking to pick up an SSD next :)

New SATA DVD drive (and Tangfastics :D) has been delivered and will be installed tomorrow, most probably...
