I take it you never seen the asus mars 295's which were selling for over a grand?
Also the GTX 280 was $649 on release (followed by a prompt drop to $499 once the hd 48xx was released). Compared to $599 here.
Fatboy any response to this, we've asked about 10 times already in various threads?
its a collectors item that has never even been in stock. dont try to spin this. paying £550 for a card that fermi will make obsolete in a couple of months is madness.
yeah sure gtx 280 was £450 max here.
Who cares? it was still a card that was available and sold, so it was still a more expensive card.
Due to the very nice exchange rate at the time. Even then at $2/£1 rate combined with a 17.5% VAT rate, that's not much of a good price.
And TSMC were not having an ass of a time back then.
These are ~€600 for me. I have seen plenty of cards for £450, which at the time would have been €700. Don't blame ATi for your paper currency

Yes, I bought the Sapphire today for £529.99, expensive ? yes.
But, I paid over £800 on launch day for 2x7800GTX's for Sli. So, I think it's not too bad.

GF100 will not outperform this dual GPU card. Anyone expecting this to be the case is delusional.
Hell, going by trends GF100 might not even outperform GTX295. (GTX280 vs 9800GX2 anyone?)
This will be the best card until nvidia can release a dual gpu card to counter this.

Heh well that depends, it not just this single sale that hangs on the price, I took my business else where due to the unreasonable price and I can afford £530 easy but I can also wait a few days.
Sure you sold what you had but now you've got people who are fans of your store going else where for business, is that good in the long run, I don't know, i don't run a store...I doubt it though. Chances are this wont be the first etailer I look at when going for my next purchase, not out of spite...just peoples minds work that way.
Anyway, no big deal really, everyone is happy, except those who are broke
Put it up for sale in MM or on auction, i bet it would sell for at least what u paid for it given lack of supply b4 xmas!
