i normally go for an ATI graphics card for my pc but im undecided at the moment on weather to get the new X1950 card when its released or get the equivilent by Nvidia. im wondering what the pros and cons would be for each? which will give best graphics results, etc. oh and i wont be using x-fire or anything like that as my mobo is only a week old and wont support dual PCIex.

any suggestions at all?

mainly 1024x768 but i can run ut2k4 which i play the most at 1280x1024 no problem at the moment. im hoping to get the system ready for ut2k7 :)

Why? What happens if system requirements are higher than the PC you've bought? Or the game gets delayed for a year and system requirements go up.

The X1900XT offers what is likely the best value for money of all the very highend cards at present. At the res you state that should see you running most any game currently available & for some time to come i would imagine.
Definitely recommend the X1900XT & its only a bit slower than the X1950XTX, but much cheaper. :)

im not looking to buy it soon. im waiting for the specs to be released for the game. im just keeping my options open incase they are the gfx cards that support it.

its all done to the best value for money to be honest. What is the best card inside your budget is what your after.

If you have a high budget and can afford any card then you need to make a decision on what card it better over the other.

At the min the x1900 is a steal if its inside your budget

the X1900XT is a great card but if have the cash then a X1950 which is due 11th Sept.

i was thinking of getting one of those. i just wanna find out the specs for ut 2k7 first. i cant believe they pushed it back again

x1950 XTX is pointless, as he can get the HIS x1900 XT which has the same cooler, clock it to x1900 XTX speeds, which it will do without breaking a sweat as the XTX is not that much quicker, and he will be 1fps at the most 2fps slower in games than an x1950 XTX, but saved a fortune. :)

Well.. Depending on the rest of your PC I'd say an X1900XT too. :)

At the moment it is exceptional value. But if the rest of your PC would cause it to bottleneck I'd say go for the X1800XT 256MB. For <£150 it's probally the bargain of the century.
