Is this not the most amazing graphics demo you've ever seen?

My PC is hardly "high spec" but I just can't believe what I'm seeing. It's like watching Toy Story in real time. Incredible!

Nah XT-X is high spec, but I'm running at XT-X speeds anyway. I can assure you I wasn't fishing for compliments :p

Apparently it's designed for the X1800 series, which makes me wonder what it would look like if they released an updated X1900 version

I didn't really clasify myself as a hardcore geek, but watching that demo makes you realise how incredible PCs have become. Think of all the physics and calculations made every second to produce that masterpiece? I think I watched it for about 5 minutes in amazement :D

I just can't get over how good it is. If ONLY games looked like that! In fact, it shows that the cards have the potential, it's just poor programming which restricts games from being on that level.

Tbh it was nice, but games do look like that? Trackmania is really nice, suppose it doesnt have as many things going on at the same time but it does look like that.

Show-off. :p

That is an amazing tech demo indeed, though, and it seems the HDR+AA "Chuck patch" works with it too from what I was just watching.

Shame the water on the windows is the same small pattern repeated over and over, but you can't have the world I guess. :)

"Chuck Patch" heh? What's that? Is it included?

It allows you to use HDR and antialiasing at the same time in Oblivion and seemingly this Toy Shop demo, something exclusive to the X1*00 graphics cards and Xbox 360 console at the moment.

wasn't the chuck patch specifically written just for Oblivion? I thought the X1x00's could do AA+HDR together normally but just couldn't for some reason on Oblivion?

The chuck patch is specifically for Oblivion, you're right. The X1*00 GPUs are capable of SM3.0 HDR+AA with FP32 blending at the hardware level, but it requires a driver modification to do it.

I think that the Toy Shop demo must use the same coding for its HDR as Oblivion does, because I already had antialiasing forced in CCC for Oblivion, and the demo was antialiased for me.
