Attaching to fans together... increased airflow?

Crazy idea but if you had two fans or more, obviously the same way round, and you fitted them one on top of the other would they be capable of shifting a greater amount of air or the same quantity for better airflow?

not significantly
each fan has a MAX thoughput, it is not increased by the speed of the input air.

Better to seal the fan casing to increase pressure.
