Audi A3 1.6TDi S-Line Review

The 1.6 tdi isn't as bad as you'd expect. Yes, it's pretty rubbish and in comparison to an rs4, it much be unbearable. But it is better than the old 1.9.

The non S-line (devoid of any spec suffixes whatsoever) one at work which might end up being mine is pretty quiet at speed - guessing the road noise thing is an s-line feature.

I see the attempts to convince yourself the new car is anything but rubbish have begun.

My post was of course somewhat in jest and a bit "look at me in my Owdee Afree" for I MUST be the centre of detention. It's not bad but there is another thing I didn't mention which adds to the list of fail....

IT'S AN AUTO!!!!

I firmly believe that if you are going to have a noisy smelly little slug, it should be an auto!

And red is a winner so in years to come it can go a nice dull flat orange colour :)

Don't argue about my jesty post, I'm sure it's fine but I'm just dead posh and don't drive cars like most of the scum on this site.

Oh bugger, that's come out wrong hasn't it... :D

I read the bit in the post I quoted about how he said it 'isnt as bad as you'd think' and was only 'pretty rubbish', yes.

Sigh.

The thing I keep forgetting with an auto is the big pedal isn't the clutch! I must have smashed my teeth on the steering wheel a dozen times as I kept dipping the non existent clutch in preparation for selecting the next gear. DOH!
