Audi A3 - Any know issues?

Just the one hour for the valve.....

Bit ****** off that the guy said I needed a clutch, I'm by no means a mechanic but thought it strange as I hadn't noticed any issues myself....nevermind

Do garages dislike customers supplying their own parts and just using them purely for labour?

Mart

Well I find some garages will not bat an eyelid if there are problems if you've supplied your own parts.

Most of the time they can source better parts cheaper than you can, so I tend to let them get on with it.

Yes sounds fair to me, will book it in tomorrow...

Has anyone ever used one of the fuel flush cans to clean the injector's etc...

Was going to buy a tin but not sure which one to opt for

Thanks

Buy the EGR valve yourself, a haynes manual and do the job yourself? For the sake of a saturday afternoons work it could save you a few quid?

Would need some folks to comment on how tough the egr valve is as never done one on a mondeo though.

If you're talking about the likes of BG244 (which is what seems to come recommended) then i've just run a tin through my diesel civic a couple of weeks ago. The car now idles a little quieter can't say i've noticed any other changes bar perhaps a miniscule change in pick up - but then again I wasn't really expecting any noticeable change.

It wont clean the egr, if you want to do that you'll need to whip it off yourself - something i'll be doing at some point over the summer too. Unless it's in a very awkward place on the mondeo anyone should be able to replace it.

Well I got the ERG valve replaced, oil flush and change (fully synthetic oil) and a microflex diesel system cleaner ...

Drives loads smoother and the whole hesitation and limp mode with coil flash has gone away ...

Need a new drivers side window trim (chrome) that sits above the door handle and some jack point covers that have fallen off? Is there a good place online to get cheaper Ford spares? Ford want £30 each for unsprayed jacking point covers...

Thanks guys
