hi

I'm picking up my new (to me) car on saturday and wondering if it cames with the Bose speaker system as standard? as I has a speaker right in the middle of the dashboard.

What are the bose system like in the audi's as I used to a lot of bass, a wondering if I need to get my ice installed.

Thanks

bose certainly isnt standard and the system in my cousins a3 3.2 quattro is probably the best ive ever heard in a car and it says bose on the actual speaker grills, he has 2 sd slots as well as a 5cd changer, etc. even though he downloads his music from youtube clips his sound system makes them sound crystal clear and the bass is definetely more than adequate

i couldnt tell you what the standard system is like because ive never heard it

I think it's pretty damn good to be honest. (considering my last system included Focal Utopias, 5 x Sinfoni amps and a P9 HU that's a pretty good compliment)

For a factory system it's a hell of a lot better than 99% of stuff out there

Fair enough. I have a TT and my mate has a S3. we both think its **** and all our mates do too.

If you're looking for BANGING CHUNES M8 then praps it's not for you. The bose I had in the A4 was good for clarity and bass.

Never going to be as good as welding a four foot frame to the boot floor and whacking the largest sub known to man in there...

For a factory fit option it's pretty amazing. If you compare it with an after-market kit then it will pale in comparison. It depends what you're used to. I have the Bose in my S3 and quite frankly am impressed with it. Of course it could be better but the head unit is the first limiting factor rather than the speakers. Don't forget, if it's A3 8L then the design is 10 years old. That's getting on a bit and certainly can't compare to modern systems.
