GT-R is required.

He probably doesn't want to embarrass his Ferrari.
I wouldn't even consider driving a RWD 620BHP car in the snow.Anything with 4WD will embarrass the Ferrari in the snow (well, almost anything)!
This is something more practical. Just been reading about the Panamera gearshift and there is talk of it being changed. Trouble is when you spec a Panamera 4S it's easy to tip over £100K. The RS5 fully loaded is more like £75K.

The GTR is impressive, but its attraction is only performance. I have a performance car.

I have a friend who has an RS5 but it's the V6 one, still loves it though![]()
Can you get the X model BMWs where you live ? a 535xi/d Touring would be high up my list if it was.

That'd be my shout too.
As Spie IIRC lives in the land of LHD, I'd be looking at an 550i xDrive (saloon).

Oh I see, not really in the same league as the RS5 then. It's a shame they didn't do any 4x4's with a nice V8 in tbh.

4WD = yucky steering feel, never really bothered me too much - ok so you don't get the feedback, but in all honesty with 4wd grip do you really need feedback?
I'm warming to Audi's, probably the old age. 4wd is a winner in the winter and I just love the last 5 years (or so) of Audi's styling, much the same as Mercedes styling is suddenly ticking boxes for me.
Put down the magazine & online reviews and let your backside decide courtesy of the nearest dealer!
