Audigy or not...

Hiyahh!

In my current system i have a PCI Audigy 2 ZS... but my new C2D rig's motherboard (Asus P5N-E Sli) has sound via Realtek ALC883!

I was lead to believe that a dedicated soundcard is best for preformance... tho this was years ago!

What is best now... i know that onboard sound has came leaps and bounds... but out of the 2 what am i best going with?

I am not a sound buff at all... i have some old Cambridge Soundworks speaker system, 1 sub and 4 small speakers... only really play games and music So just more a preformance question than sound quality!

Under Vista, it'll make no difference because of MS messing around with hardware-based sound (or rather, the lack of it) in Vista.

Ahh thats not good i guess

Thought creative had caught up a bit with their drivers... guess this aint so true?
