Hi there,

I'm am going to be buying an xbox 360 with a VGA cable to play on my 24" monitor. just wondering how i will get sound? Atm i run a 5.1 setup and it just runs off my sound card into the back of the sub and thats it. how would i connect the xbox? the sub does not have any more ports on the bk (optical etc) :(

Regards,

Edd

you could perhaps run it through your sound cards input but i dare say there will be a lag.

you will need a cable to convert the red and white jacks into a single 3.5mm stereo socket, your local electrical hardware place should have them

You will need the following items to run it from the audio out from the VGA cable to your PC soundcard "Line In"

http://www.cabling4less.co.uk/Cabling4Less_104.php This runs from the VGA cable to the following....

http://www.keene.co.uk/multi.php?mycode=KA134 This plugs into you PC soundcard "Line In"

Of course there is a high street electronics shop that will sell both of these, but they are a competitor and therefore cannot be mentioned.

This is exactly how I had my 360 setup for sound before I moved to a proper Amp and 5.1 speakers.
