hi there,

I have just got myself a Sony BDBP-S360 blu Ray player in preperation for when i move in with my GF. I dont have the TV yet and i still only have a crappy 14 inch CRT in my bedroom which will get replaced with a HD ready set when i move out.

In the mean time i wasnted to hook it up to my bedroom set, but this is where the trouble starts. On the back of the DVD player there are s-video outs (yellow, red & white). The TV in my bedroom does not have an S-video input so i thought a lead which went from the three seperate outputs to a scart connector would be suitable but i dont get a picture on my TV. Am i doing something wrong totally? Do i need to have a proper s-video to scart converter which will clean the signal or soemthing? Or is my blu ray player not working?

Please help

Yellow/White/Red is composite video plus stereo audio.
S-video is a 4-pin mini Din (similar to a PS/2 mouse).

Both standards (plus RGB which is much better) can be sent over a SCART lead. It's up to the TV if it can decode it tho.
