Thought the point of the new cars and aero changes was to allow close racing and remove DRS not add more. Only 2 detection zones as well

Apparently the last time someone overtook for the lead (not in pits, etc.) at Albert Park was Schumi on Montoya in 2002..

They changed the track a bit to make it less 'stop start' and haven't even given the track a chance to see if it's better or not.

That's significantly damped my enthusiasm for getting up early to watch this. Hopefully that rain materialises and livens things up a bit. It'll be interesting to see whether Merc are any closer to sorting that car out.

50% isn't a probability of rain... it's that the rain is likely to hit 50% of the target area (i.e. Melbourne).

It will rain two hours before qualifying, dry up, pour with rain 20 minutes after then stop again. It will also rain in the morning on race day, stop about an hour before the race and be a dry race, then pour again after soaking the tear down mechanics.

Still no new rear wing for Mercedes in Melbourne, as initially planned. Red Bull, on the other hand, is coming with a new rear wing in Australia. #F1

Nothing to say it won't arrive with a couple of team members as carry on luggage on a flight in the next couple of days. Happened many times before.

Not necessarily. It could be that the wing isn't ready because they're working on parts of the car more significant in controlling porpoising; that's surely more important.
