The Australian Open starts on Monday and the build up is currently being dominated by Djokovic but the draw was made today and there are some tasty first round ties including Murray vs Basilashvili, who he's just beaten in 3 sets in the Sydney International tournament, and Raducanu vs Stephens.

Djokovic is currently the 1st seed on the men's side and Ash Barty the 1st on the women's. Elsewhere, Cameron Norrie's seeded 12th, Dan Evans 24th, Murray has a wildcard and Raducanu is seeded 17th. No Federer or Serena this year, both are still recovering from injuries.

Well Barty breezed through easily enough. Surprised it took 54 mins though for a 6-0, 6-1 victory. I've seen one sided sets over as little as 12 mins before. Though mainly on grass. Always made me wonder why people were advocating equal prize money for Men and women at grand slams given women are working for a shorter time. Unless it goes strain on the body or something similar. Anyway that's a whole separate topic.

I have my parents staying with me from England. We are going to the day session at Rod Laver on Friday. Mother keeps asking me who we'll see. Absolutely impossible to figure out. :confused:

Great to wake up to a Murray win and the Brits generally doing well.

Leylah Fernandez out in the first round was a bit of a surprise though.

Edit: Oh and the people shouting SIUUUUUUUUUUU need to be euthanised.
