Looking for a new card for my PC as i've "made do" with onboard Realtek for ages now and I hear that a dedicated card makes a big difference. I notice the Auzentech are also available here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produ...rs.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=11

I was looking at either the Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1 or the Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1 DTS, both roughly the same price, but i'm not sure if there's any real difference between them.

I'm not on a strict strict budget, just don't fancy spending more than 65 notes on one. Which do you think is the better out of the two for now and future music/gaming use, or are there any better value cards out there? :)

EDIT - I notice that Auzentech doesn't support above EAX 2.0... for future gaming would i be better off buying a Creative EAX.5.0 compliant card?

Ahh the impatience of youth... just went ahead and bought a Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1 and a pair of Sennheiser 161's. :D

Ive not actually heard of Auzentech X-Plosion so I would have gone with the creative anyway. Auzentech is also not a known highend soundcard maker such as EMU (creative), M-Audio and Ederol.

Been digging some reviews and the Auzentech is getting storming feeback fronm pros and users alike... music quality is apparently far better than Creative and the only drawback seems to be gaming performance on the lower end models... http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1104826

Still glad I went with the X-Fi though, I mainly use it for gaming so... :)
