Auzentech X-Fi Prelude & TOSLink?

I've been following the Prelude with interest since I saw it had a digital/optical output on the back

I'm wondering whether the card would offer any improvement in sound quality over the X-Fi Fatality I currently have, or would it be a waste of money?

Will the TOSLink offer any improvement over a standard minijack cable?

Well at present the card is using the Creative driver (although you can only use the ones on the Prelude disc and not official Creative ones I think I read) and an Auzentech driver is in the works.

Also, will this card work ok under Vista 64?
