Hi there,

I have a Denon 3805 and the Mordaunt short genie 5.1 speaker system which for the last 5 years or so it has served me well' but now I want to upgrade to an Av amp with HDMI for my ps3' popcorn laptop etc etc Don't really want to spend mega money what's my best bang for buck £500 is my limit probably get around £200 I hope for my Mint Denon 3805 been looking at the ONKYO TX-SR875 is within budget anything else I should consider?
Also looked at the Onkyo TX-SR70 and TX-SR876 which is over budget probably overkill as well.... is it better to buy a slightly older high end model or a newer low end model?

The Onkyo 875 was really well thought of when first released, but dont believe the 876 is an upgraded version, it really isnt and personally wouldnt touch the latter with a barge pole

Ive been very happy with my Onkyo 805 that I have had since it was a new release, and now looking to upgrade myself

Personally I dont buy 2nd hand audio gear, but if you are happy doing that look out for a 875 which are now going for pretty reasonable sums (for what you are getting)

Hi,

I could stretch to £650 when I add my money from my Denon would the Onkyo TXNR807 at the same money be a better bet than the Denon 2310 or just try and grab a Onkyo 875 at 300 ish
