Does anyone know which AV amps have the best HDMI repeaters in them? I'm thinking Pioneer and Yamaha for some reason.

I believe that some don't actually have repeaters in them at all, is that right?

Look on the manufacturers websites.

Not sure how you'd define one as better than another, it either sends the data or it doesn't?

I think I read somewhere that some have repeaters that can work with longer lengths of cable, like 20 or 30 metres. I can't remember where though.

I was hoping that someone here would know.

Not sure specifically, but possibly worth your while beginning your look at receivers that have their own on board video processing and upscaling hardware, and then go from there.

Either way to get anything up from a simple pass through receiver you'll be looking at quite a lot of money, as these kind of features manufacturers normally leave for their flagship and high end models.

Unless you are doing MEGA lengths of HDMI cable then TBH I wouldn't worry about it, most modern receivers with the HDMI passthrough will suffer next to no reduction in picture quality (10-15m max)

However, if doing 20m+ then another option is amplified HDMI cables:

As said above the folks at AVforums will be able to tell you a hell of a lot more.
