Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - SPOILER FREE DISCUSSION - DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, STARMUNCH!

Does anybody else think that either the ending of Infinity War or the Avengers 4 will start to introduce the Abstract entities. The Gems are a threat to everything apart from Death, the Beyonders and the Living Tribunal. Basically whoever possesses the Gems usurps the role of Eternity.

Several heroes will die, the next film they will go back in time several years to bring the dead heroes back into the future to do it right this time around. On a side note, this film is going to be so massive that I just wouldnt bother releasing anything else in 2018 :)

They do have the time stone, I just wonder if they'll be really predictable with it.

I feel like they could make this a 2 part movie, I can’t imagine 1 film is enough to give Thanos enough time to build his character more than “yeah, he’s bad and wants to kill us all” and be very 1 dimensional.

It IS a two part movie! The second Infinity War movie, as yet untitled, is out next year I believe. They shot them back to back.

they've messed with the concept of him being bad. Apparently he's destroying half the Universe to save the other half.

If he does his finger snap scene from the comics which they hint at the start of the trailer then half of the universe dies anyway including several avengers.

I doubt we'll get Thanoscopter though :(

I do recall seeing a behind the scenes photo snapped by someone recently where Cap is wearing his old original armour from the earlier films whilst talking to Strange, which is what makes me think they go back in time

It looks absolutely fantastic! I’m really looking forward to it even more now.

This will easily be the highest grossing Marvel film they’ve made...perhaps one of the highest grossing films ever made also!

Yep, though Black Panther is doing so well that it might do similar numbers.

from that trailer..

iron man
cpt america
thor
dr strange

all getting the **** getting kicked out or just about to....but i think we will have 2 that are dead :( certs to die....iron man and the cap. Partly for story reasons and also you can't have 2 witty quip monkeys in the same film....one has to go (tony or starlord) This film will be quite a break from the usual light hearted marvel fluff.

I wonder what timey wimey stuff strange is up to?
edit: ohh i just read the stuff someone said in the spoiler a few posts up i agree totally...also it will be easy for audiences to differentiate/keep track as he will be SANS BEARD.

To be honest, I think the Thanos storyline will take a large chunk of the cast out. Dead/retired/disappeared. Marvel will use the event to shake up the MCU. It needs to happen to stop the franchise becoming stale.

Removing the old guard (both starring and supporting roles) will allow recently introduced characters to take on a bigger role, and make space for the introduction of new characters. Simply killing off either Cap or Tony isn't enough.

The only characters I would call safe are Spiderman and Starlord (sequels confirmed), Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Ant Man, and Black Panther (sequels likely), possibly Black Widow (solo movie strongly rumoured) and maybe Thor (Thor 4 being strongly hinted at). The chances of all of those movies happening during the 2019-2022 timeframe seems slim given they account for 8/10 films on Marvel's release schedule (without any new characters, or any kind of "Avengers" movie).

Thanos wants to destroy half the universe? Maybe he takes half the existing heroes out too?

Can captain marvel defeat Thanos?
No one can when he’s got the infinity gauntlet*

Adam Warlock defeats him by tricking him in to removing the gauntlet.

*Excluding “The One Above All” who is essentially God in the comics. Fun fact, he takes the form of Jack Kirby and is shown actually drawing stories in some stories.
