Yes, I should have made that clearer... still... all aboard the hype train! It's surpassed the previous 7 films' advanced booking takings, not overall box office.
all aboard the hype train!
Hopefully it will, I think the entire Marvel series to date has been nothing short of amazing. This has had 10 years of build up and following, can see it breaking nearly every record out there.
I think the difference is that the Marvel movies are made by the company that makes the comics. They know and love the material. The Fox/DC (non-Marvel Studios) movies are made by people who make films. They always want to mess with the source material because "they know better", because it's all about making money rather than making a good films (the two are not mutually exclusive). Marvel owning and understanding the comics has directly fed into them knowing how to make good films for their characters.
It can be done, look at Nolan's Batman, or Logan, Deadpool or even the first two Burton Batmans. They had a heart, a story, characters you cared about or were just a lot of fun. Film studios trying to cash in with nothing but flashy visuals are missing the point. People haven't been reading the comics for the last seventy years because of the great special effects, but because of the stories and characters. That's something Marvel Studios understand, and other studios rarely do.
he has the visuals but has no idea how to create characters, and yet DC keep using him....it boggles my mind.
I hope he does too but I wouldn't know what difference it would make since Thanos is stronger (having invincible skin) even without the gems? With regards to the Hulk, I didn't like the way he was so easily dispatched by the Hulk-buster and how he was "evenly matched" by Thor in Ragnarok.Hopefully Hulk goes absolutely nuts in this one, feel hes been under powered so far in the films.
I mean it's like death comes to call for the Avengers. This is a nearly unbeatable force who is determined to destroy half the life in the universe to bring it to balance. He sees it as an overgrown garden that he needs to prune. As you mentioned, he is fairly invincible He's a sort of genetic mutation who's the Genghis Khan of the universe. He's unbeatable on the battlefield, stronger than the Hulk, skin is invincible. So it's going to cost the Avengers something to defeat him.
I thought this was common knowledge? Ps the name of the second movie (the one I've seen) isn't as bad as you'd think....A lot of them will likely die, though not necessarily all in Infinity War.
Note they haven't even announced the name of the next movie yet, so I'm guessing the title alone is a spoiler. (No speculation please)
