They'll probably kill them all off and turn all the main characters into either minorities or women as they have done in the comics. :p
 
It's to be expected that with the 'first guard' some if not all of them will die during this to pass the mantle onto newer Marvel Characters.

Also as far as the collector is concerned, it greatly depends on how they portray his character and if they reflect the comic version or go with their own. The comic version he is extremely powerful and would not the easiest for Thanos to take the gem from. in Thanos quest he traded for it.

He's ran in to the Elders before and had no difficulty dispatching them.
 
Will they do Thanos justice in the movies and make him like he is in the comics or make him weaker so the avengers will defeat him?
 
He'll have to absolutely kick their arse from the outset, and I think he will

They need to shock the audience to show how little the avengers can do against him. They could even have a death very early on.
 
I think he's going to take out Ironman, Cap or possibly both as their contracts are up and they've both openly said their pretty much done now and want to pass it onto newer characters.

I think in many ways if you have read the Thanos comics you'll probably end up being disappointed by this movie; particularly if you are a Thanos fan.
 
Simply because the movie is unlikely to be anything like a true reflection of what goes on in the comics. They have already changed his motivation for trying to wipe out half the Universe. The list goes on :Ego claimed he was a Celestial and yet was created by the Stranger. There is no adam Warlock, and so on. I at least hope it's not going to be as bad as I expect it to be.

'Adam' was postulated at the end of GOTG2 in the after credits scene.

None of the movies are exactly like the comics and that is a good thing IMO. They are there own things, hence the cinematic universe not the comic universe.
