Average UK annual Mileage

Closer to 12-15k

New cars on average travel 15,000 miles in their first year.

12k p/a after that

I love high mileage cars - it means I can get them cheaper.
Tomorrow I'm picking up a 51 Reg 1.8 Mondeo Estate for £1500 because its got 114,000 on the clock.

fifteen hundred! thats bonkers! thats not even really high mileage imo, i take it its all in good nick (silly question, you are buying it after all)

I took it for a run and I couldn't believe he was selling it so cheap.
I asked why and he said nobody wants it because of the mileage so he had to reduce it.
With the amount of miles I do I will bring it back to normal in 3 years.

Brilliant, isn't it? It's probably in better nick than a £4000 50,000 mile example that spends every day carting the kids to school and back through traffic as well.

This is the first time in 33 years I've been excited about a car because my missus has never allowed me to have an estate before and now I will be able to get all my music gear in without damaging my back etc -
