I was wondering if anyone else was struggling with the AudioMAX card that comes with the motherboard.

I have a Logitech Z-5500, and it worked perfectly with my old system with its own intergrated 7.1 sound card. But for the love of god it doesnt work with this. All the speakers work as i have tested them in the same line out on the AudioMAX card.

With the Realtek software you select 6CH and the software ask you for each socket detected with a cable in it what it is! I select for each the the speakers each should correspond to center/sub front left/right rear left/right.

But all i can get to work is front left and right, it seems to want to do everything ... center (sub doesnt work at all when you do the test), and the rear :(

I am very confused as i have sent an email to Abit via the blackbox and i go to uni on monday i REALLY dont want it to be faulty :( only got it on thursday!!!

Any help would be excellent as i miss the 5.1 surround sound.

Some technical info:

Intel Core 2 E6600
Abit AW9D-MAX
2 Gig corsair DDR2 ram
Ati 1950 grphz
500 gig hdd

Windows XP Pro SP2

Thanks in advance

what are you playing?
The card can't encode so will play stereo (e.g. CDs) as stereo , not 5.1, 7.1 etc.
there may be some way to clone the outpout though.
