Not sure if this is the right place to be asking this question as these are really high end dekstop/hifi solutions but i'll try anyway.

Has anybody had any experience with or even better compared any of these speakers:

1) B&O Beolab 3/4 or Beolab 6000/8000
2) B&W MT4 or MT8
3) Dynaudio mc-15

Particularly interested in comparisons, user experiences with the B&O vs Dynaudio. Which is better? Why do people always decry the B&O's? Is there a valid reason?

Please note that all these speakers are v expensive hence my wanting to get user experience feedback before i buy.

Are you buying new? If so then you could listen to them and make your own comparisons

...Personally i havent used any of those speakers

The only opinion I can provide is down to using Dynaudio BM5 studio monitors for mixdowns; something they were utterly wonderful for - neutral, precise and non-fatiguing.

My experience with them was so positive that I can say that my next PC speakers will be Dynaudios of some sort; probably the MC 15s depending on a listening test - and as Guest2 points out: at this price, testing is a must.

While I've no experience of B&O or B&W, it's notable that clearly some of the money is paying for some - admittedly rather fetching - aesthetics. This isn't the case for the Dynaudios. If this means more of the production costs are going into a better sound, I'm all for that.

Side-note: having said that, Dynaudio's Consequence Ultimate Edition with rosewood and gold looks gorgeous!

My B&Ws are made very well (for speakers in general) Also the parts cost quite a bit to replace too. Hell, 1 midrange driver and one sub costs more than I paid for the speakers. Cabinets are very well made (603s)

Sorry. I didn't mention I was in Oz. There's virtually nothing down here to test.

One retailer with the Dynaudio. Do you think he would take it out of the box for me though so I could listen to it?

These are $2500 speakers. I'm just not sure....

I think personally the Dynaudio's look rather sexy too. :D:cool:

I haven't listened to any of those specific bits of kit but I have listened to a fair few different Dynaudio speakers and have been totally impressed by all of them. B&W speakers are very well regarded too. I used to sell B&O kit a few years back, very good TVs but it is often said that they don't do 'hi-fi', or didn't back then anyway.

Intersting you say this. I have actually heard the opposite hence my curiosity.
While the B&O TV's look good I have heard that they simply use and are assembled to the same specifications and in the same factories as your cheap Panasonics/LG's and have exactly same picture quality.

Now I have heard the opposite for HiFi. AFAIK this is where B&O's roots are and where the company's focus lies.
Seeing as they have such a history in Audio I was looking for reasons from people why they have a bad rep from some while others love them.

I am trying to sort facts from emotion.:)

Otherwise I will simply go for the Dynaudio's.
