B450 with a 5800x3D

Hi i am looking to upgrade some of my system. I have a B450 MB looking to put a 5800X3D and a new GPU as i currently have a RX 5700XT. I have a 1440p monitor but struggle to play 1440p on warzone 2 with good FPS so currently only on 1080p.

Would a rx7900xt work in the system or would it have a large bottle neck?

It will work with no problems. Being limited to PCIe 3 with that card is not an issue because it has the full 16 lanes available.

Your psu will be fine as well most likely , is it a 650w psu?

Yea its a 650w but bozen might upgrade that to an 850w. Just waiting for a 36mth 0% to pop up

I've come from a similar set up (5700 XT + Ryzen 2700X on a B450 motherboard).

Now on a 7900 XT + Ryzen 5700X, still on the B450 motherboard.

So far seems to be a good combination, though the max FPS I need is 100 @ UW1440p. There's definitely no noticeable bottleneck coming from only being PCI-3.0.

I'd be feeling squeamish about the PSU in your case. I have a very old 750W Bronze rated PSU. I wouldn't feel comfortable having anymore load on it than I currently have, so that would rule out a 5800X3D in my case.
